Acoustic performance
Glazing configurations can help reduce outside noise from roads, busy neighbourhoods and other sources. Compare the acoustic test results for the selected glass and complete window system.
Why vacuum glass
Comfort, clarity
and possibilities.
Vacuum insulated glass uses a sealed vacuum cavity to reduce heat transfer in a slim profile. Explore its benefits for Australian homes, window upgrades and architectural projects, and the considerations that shape a suitable specification.
Condensation considerations
The sealed cavity and glass construction are part of the glazing specification. For condensation advice, consider the selected glass, frame, installation and indoor conditions together.
Thermal insulation
Vacuum glazing limits heat transfer through the glass and can help reduce heating and cooling demand. Whole-home energy use also depends on the frame, building envelope, orientation, climate and how the home is used.
Toughened and safety glass options
Different applications require different glass constructions. Review the relevant safety documentation and installation requirements for the configuration being specified.
Material composition
For projects with environmental or material requirements, review the product documentation, including lead content, for the actual glazing being supplied.
Slim glazing profiles
A compact profile creates opportunities in heritage windows, timber frames and renovations where glazing depth is limited. Exact thickness and weight depend on the selected build-up.
Flexible configurations
VIG can be considered on its own or combined with laminated and insulated glass. The right configuration balances thermal, acoustic, solar-control, safety and frame requirements.
Warranty and care
Plan for the life of the glazing as well as its initial performance. Review the current warranty, installation requirements and care instructions for the product you select.
